Flap control KN1

Have you retrofitted a flap exhaust system in your vehicle and would like to control the flaps freely? Then our flap control KN1 is exactly the right product!

Overview:

  • For controlling exhaust flaps (electric or vacuum)
  • Intelligent battery monitoring / automatic shutdown of the controller

  • Operation via remote control or button

  • Start mode freely programmable

Control of electrical or pneumatic exhaust flaps:

No matter what type of exhaust flaps you have retrofitted to your vehicle, the KN1 control unit can be switched to the appropriate flap drive at any time using a switch.

Vacuum switching valves from Pierburg, electric servomotors from Küster (Audi, VW, Mercedes etc.) and from SBS (BMW from 2012, Audi and Mercedes from around 2016) are supported.

One or two electric servomotors can be controlled in parallel, depending on how many exhaust gas flaps have been retrofitted.

Suitable accessories such as vacuum reservoirs, vacuum hoses or switching valves can be found here .

Intelligent battery monitoring:

The KN1 control unit can be connected directly to the battery poles. Thanks to intelligent battery monitoring, the device automatically registers whether the engine is on or off and switches off all connected consumers when the vehicle is parked. No searching for a suitable ignition signal and no empty battery even after a longer period of standstill!

If you want to connect the control unit to the ignition plus of your vehicle, the battery monitoring can also be switched off at any time using the switch on the device.

Control by button or switch:

The control unit can also be operated using a button or switch as you wish. The flaps can be easily opened or closed at the push of a button.

When using a button or switch with a feedback LED, this can be controlled via the control unit.

  • Flaps open: LED on
  • Flaps to LED out

In addition to the acoustics, you always have a visual way of detecting the position of the exhaust flaps. The LED feedback can also be inverted!

Start mode:

The start mode describes the behavior of the control after the vehicle has started (the start-stop system of your vehicle is not counted as a vehicle start). The following modes can be set as start mode, they influence the flap position when the vehicle starts:

  • Last state (default), the exhaust flap position is saved when the vehicle is switched off and restored when the vehicle starts.
  • Sport mode, exhaust flaps always open when the vehicle starts

  • Comfort mode, exhaust flaps always closed when vehicle starts

The start mode can be changed at will with the help of the hand transmitter.

Inverting the control:

If the flue gas flaps are different (closed without pressure or open without pressure), it may happen that the flap position does not match the selected flap position (pressing a button on the hand-held transmitter or the feedback signal from the LED). If the exhaust flaps close even though you wanted to open them, the control signal can be inverted using a switch on the control unit. The exhaust flap position always corresponds to the one you want.

General information:

  • No approval in the StVo

  • For racing use only
  • When driving under full load, the flaps should not be completely closed

  • Installation at your own risk

  • If the instructions are disregarded, no liability will be assumed for any damage incurred
